Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Society held at Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO on March 1, 2008. Present: The President of the Society, Dr. Brett Delahunt, the Treasurer, Dr. Liang Cheng, the Secretary, Dr. Lars Egevad, the President-Elect, Dr. John Srigley, and 32 other members as recorded in the attendance register. The President called the meeting to order at 9:24 p.m Apologies: Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Dr. David Bostwick. Minutes: The minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on March 25, 2007 in San Diego, CA were read by the Secretary and approved by the meeting. President's Report: The President thanked the Members for their attendance at the business session of the meeting and also thanked the Officers for their sterling work over the past 12 months. He then reviewed the activities of the Society and noted that the membership continues to increase at a pleasing rate, with the current roll being 338 members. He also made mention of the role of the website (http.//www.isuporg.org) in promoting the Society, but noted that the number of hits logged on the site have declined recently. An email will be circulated, reminding the members of the log on procedure. Secretary's Report: ISUP now has about 300 senior members and 40 resident members. Among senior members, 2/3 are North Americans and 1/3 from other continents, including 16% from Europe, 9% from Asia, 4% from Australia or New Zealand, 3% from South America and 0.3% from Africa. The Secretary expressed his satisfaction that ISUP is now a truly international Society. It was reminded that among other things, membership gives access to the website and grants. For upcoming ISUP consensus meetings, it will also be required that participants are senior members of ISUP and have paid their dues. The ISUP reception has grown steadily to become a popular social event, this year with a record participation of around 70 guests. Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer reported that the economy of the Society is strong. The dues will remain at USD 40 per year but the dues for 3 years will be reduced to 100 USD.
